I'm On My Way

"On your way to what?" you're probably asking right now. I'm on my way to fitness ofcourse! This is officially my third day of consecutive exercise. I've been trying to run every evening for at least 30 minutes. My hope is that I can stick to it this time.

I'd like to introduce a new section of my blog. I will try to post a great line or joke in every entry. I've noticed my blogs are a bit dreary so I'll try to spice it up with something interesting or funny. Here's the first.

"Of course I don't look busy, I did it right the first time!"

Haha. Don't take it so seriously, just laugh along with me folks. Just a reminder, please book all inter-island travel on Hawaiian Airlines, and not the beast that is go! airlines. Here's a link to Hawaiian Airline's website:

Until next time, take care everyone.

Aloha Aloha Airlines

I was watching the news all day yesterday about the shut down of Aloha Airlines.  I just felt sad.  I don't even fly Aloha anymore, I normally book my flights on Hawaiian, but I grew up with Aloha Airlines.  My family did most of their travel on Aloha Airlines while I was growing up.  I've always loved the airport environment and when you are a child, the experience is 100 more exciting.  I remember waiting in line to get on an Aloha flight just so I could get a seat next to a window behind the wing where I would have a good view of their jet engines.  I have great memories of Aloha Airlines.  I hope somehow, someway they are able to make a come back.  I have this frustration and anger toward go! airlines and its company, especially the way they moved in with huge financial backing to do just this.  Job well done!  Hopefully Aloha wins their lawsuit against go! and can bounce back.  If not, I wish best of luck to all of Aloha's employees.  One thing I can say is that I will never fly go!, never.

Aloha Airlines Being Driven Out

I grew up in Hawaii. I grew up flying back and forth between my home here on Oahu and Kona on the Big Island. One thing people may not know about me is that I have an extreme interest, you may call it an obsession with the flying machines that are airplanes, commercial jets especially. Everything about huge jetliners are beautiful and amazing. I can spend hours watching them take off and land at the small parking lot at the end of Lagoon Drive, where you can get a great view of Honolulu International Airport's Reef Runway. I grew up on two familiar airlines, Aloha and Hawaiian. Two different, but equally beautiful airlines, that have been a big part of the culture in Hawaii and to the people of Hawaii.
Recently, Go! Airlines operated by Mesa Air Group from out-of-state has begun operating inter-island flights in Hawaii with an explicit goal to drive one of the native airlines out of business by operating at a loss. I can respect businesses rights to compete with one another, because the consumer normally benefits when two companies compete for their business. But when a business is operating at a loss, with the purpose to drive another out of business, so it can then take advantage of the consumers it claims to be helping, that I find despicable. What's even worse is it has been shown that Go! Airlines illegally used confidential business information from Hawaiian and Aloha Airlines to enter and operate in the Hawaii inter-island market. Aloha Airlines has filed for Bankruptcy and is on the verge of shutting down. Aloha Airlines shut down would put it's employees, some of who have been with the company for over 20 years, out of work. I hope somehow Aloha Airlines will find a way to survive the vicious attack by Go! Airlines and continue to operate. Hopefully when I drive to the tiny parking lot at the end of Lagoon Drive I will still see two beautiful, familiar planes flying the Hawaiian skies.

Sick Already!

Second day on the job, typing this blog that is, and I'm sick. A new record as far as I'm concerned. My head is spinning, my nose is running, and I keep coughing up...I'll spare you the details. All I can think about is how much I'm contaminating my keyboard. With every key stroke I deposit tiny amounts of my infectious germs. That'll teach people who use my computer. Hahaha. Anyway, I don't seem to have any readers so I'm typing to myself basically. Not quite as disturbing as talking to myself, but hey you can't go insane all at once. (You probably could.) Maybe it's the cough medicine. Well if you are reading, tell someone else to stop by and read a little. Please. Take care.

Getting Started

To tell you the truth I have no idea what I'm going to blog about. I'm a 22-year-old graduate of Kamehameha Schools currently living in Kaneohe, Hawaii. I thought an idea would come to me while I was typing, however, I was wrong. I'll give it a shot next time. Take care.
